I'm off Thurs & boss said I could take off Fri too. Who's game? We could leave tomorrow evening & be riding in the Smokeys Thurs morning! I know Gatlinburg does a New Years firework show, maybe they do one for the 4th too. Seriously though, I know it's short notice but it'll be a blast!

Just under 600 miles from my front door to the Deals Gap Resort. Seriously people, who's in? Shouldn't be an expensive trip, I'm thinking tents & air mattresses should cut expenses by alot. The temps are probably still cool enough at night to be comfortable.

Deal's gap and surrounding areas including the cherohala skyway is an AMAZING ride. I was just there at the beginning of april for a week. I might be up to go again if i can get off! We usually stay at the tree tops resort off of hwy 143 near robbinsville, NC. Word of advice....try NOT to look around at the scenery too much, just pay attention where you are going because there is so many turns There are plenty of lookouts to stop at on the side of the road if you want to look around.

Testing the waters to see how many people would be interested in a trip up to the Smokey Mountains! Some of the countries best roads & scenery can be found up there. Regardless of your skill level, mountain riding will improve upon it. I have a trailer that can carry at least 5 bikes. Those that want to ride up there are more than welcome to do so, but I'll be trailering mine up there. It's actually cheaper to feed one truck than 4-5 bikes anyway. Trailering also saves your tires & back for the fun stuff. I'd say its gotta be at least 5 days of riding to be worth making the trip. 1st & possibly 2nd day we'd be riding in Northern Georgia & probably staying at TWO(Two Wheels Only) motorcycle resort. This area has plenty of awesome warm up roads & lil towns to explore. Probably load up & head north on the 2nd evening & ride the NC/TN roads the rest of the trip. Anyone interested, speak up & let's make this happen! Oh yeah, the sooner the better too, it's getting hotter by the day. Landon when I replied to your post saying I was interested in your trip I was nursing a backache that I thought was going to get better. The backache got worse and turned out to be a ruptured disk. I will be having surgery next week and will be rehabbing it for 4 to 6 weeks. I do love going on trips to the mountains, so after I am able to ride again I will let you know and you can put me back on the list.
