I took my bike into New Orleans power sports for a tire change on Friday bought two tires Friday eve and was told to bring bike back in morn for install . I left it over night so they could do it early. Now the parts manager who sold me the tires has been there a long time and he quoted me a price of $210 he didn't tell me that the price was for tires only he made it seem that was my total price. When he called Saturday around noon and told me it was ready to pick up I figured that was it and went to get it. When I arrived he told me that I owed another $240 for install. Well I got very pissed and asked why the hell he waited till they finished to tell me about the extra $ he said I thought I told you " I'm sorry" my mistake. I have heard of these business practices from them in the past and should have read the reviews before hand. I learned a hard lesson and want to pass on this story to y'all so that they hopefully dont catch anyone else from our group like this. Please take your service and parts needs somewhere else. $450 for two budget tires is basically robbery in my book. Also when I road my bike across the causeway mon I heard a rattle and found that it was the plate on my swing arm, they had left the adjusting nuts for my chain loose and they were about to fall off. I will never refer anyone or ever take my MC needs there again. BE WARNED!!!

Also, the extra $ I had were for my ride to RedBluff Sun so needless to say I didn't make it.

Thanks, for sharing Billy, I don't have any experience with them at all so I cant really give an opinion but this seems like a strait forward case of highway robbery. I have bought a very expensive pair of Pirelli race rubber (over $350/set) and had it mounted by what I though was the highest hourly rate service departments in town and didnt pay a total of $450.

Wow that is bad. That's why I mount my own tires. It's a PITA but I just can't afford to pay somebody that much money! Especially considering how fast I go through tires commuting!

damn, this is steep man, $450 for two budget tires? Why the hell it costs $240 to mount 2 tires? Last summer Garret Honda had a special for $20 a tire, provided that you bring the tires in. So for about $45 I had 2 tires installed and balanced.
The regular price around is about $40 a tire to install and balance (bring your own tires mode). How do they figure out it was $240 is besides me.
Btw I have been there couple times for some parts and their prices were way too steep.

G&C Honda in Hammond used to charge me $50 per wheel to take the wheels off my bike, mount and balance the tires. I used to order tires online and have them shipped to G&C. I was buying the tires for around what the dealership could buy them for, so they were not making any money on the tires, I thought $50 was fair. The last time I went in they had raised their price to $100 per wheel. I picked up my set of tires and went home.

I get my tires mounted at Friendly Powersports. $40 ea if you bring wheels and tires $20 ea if you buy tires from them and their tire prices are really good! Same as or cheaper than buying online for tires the stock. They keep my beloved Dunlop Q2 in stock. Saturday is first come first serve so they will usally do them while you wait. You cant beat that. Good people too.
I go to TTRNO gor my race rubber Dunlop & Pirelli Slicks & Race Dot. Go on a trackday when the Speedshop is open. The tires and mounting are cheaper there than at the dealership.

Where is that friendly located? Isn't there one in Slidell that's the one. This is where I got my R1 (6 years ago). Rick, the guy that sold me the bike (i think he is still there), took me for lunch while waiting to put the bike together. You don't get this kind of service anywhere else. Really nice people and sensible prices if you ask me. It changed management last year, so I have not done any business with the new management (kinda hard when you live in Metairie).
